I have the Bonavita electric kettle as well and like both kettles. Here are a couple things I discovered when using this one.
This kettle holds a bit more water than the Bonavita electric kettle: about 1 1/4 liters filled approximately to the same depth. This is because the electric kettle base is raised to enclose the electric element. This kettle does not have a max fill line but the electric one does and it is about 1" from the top. Hope this helps.
The packaging for this kettle indicates it is for stovetop/induction use. However, it is not compatible with glass-ceramic cook-tops. The bottom is not flat so it makes poor contact, wobbles and takes forever to boil. It does work well on electric coil burners, or you can boil in another kettle and transfer to this for the pour over process.

One objection, it says do not fill over 1 liter so then why isn't there a 1 liter marker inside the kettle.

I do not think these gripes are significant, but perhaps mostly annoyances. The kettle is quite loud as soon as it put on the heat. Almost right away it begins to sound like a train. Though, this may be due to the fact that we are using an electric range with coil heating elements. Perhaps with gas it would not be same, I do not know. Second, it seems to take quite long to boil water. I am not sure it is not because of the tapered design of the kettle. Again, this is not a big deal, and an extra few minutes to reach boil is not so much an issue, but an annoyance, and one with which we can live. I am hoping that those with gas will also report on their experience of the product to see if they are observing the same. Induction users as well.
