Colorful way to boil water, February 19, 2012 By karenbrat1 "karenbrat1" (Inland Northwest, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Electric Water Kettle in Stainless Steel and Black A nice pot to quickly boil water for tea, instant coffee, instant soups etc instead of putting a cup in the microwave. The semi-clear part lights up green when you add cold water to it, then cycles through blue, violet, and finally red when it reaches a boil. It's supposed to beep and shut off when it reaches a boil, but for some reason I can't figure out, sometimes mine shuts off and sometimes it just keeps boiling. You can set it to keep the water warm for several hours at 105, 150, or 200 degrees after it boils. 50 oz. capacity is plenty for a host of tea drinkers, it heats the water pretty quickly, and the base insulates the hot pot from your countertop.
